Dim green light illuminates
The vibrant maze of twists and turns
And drops so high, one wrong move
Will fracture fragile bones
Smooth checkered tiles
Lead me here, a place that made
My friends and I smile
Before they stole our skin
Now they roam and climb
The twists and turns once vibrant
They sucked our hues and fed on laughs
To saturate uncanny complexions
They try to be like me and you
But their voices are hoarse
And their teeth turn black
As they eat away familiar faces
Ears sharper than razors
Don’t make a sound
Or they’ll steal your skin too
And you’ll be nowhere to be found
